Black Diesel Barista School (BDBS) evolved from the internal training curriculum of Black Diesel Coffee in Ann Arbor. In training our staff, we found there was a general lack of quality training resources for independent coffee shops. In an effort to train the most skilled, passionate baristas around, we made our own.

Now, what does that mean?
We've done our homework! Black Diesel Barista School worked hard to complete the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Premier Training Campus program. Here's how:
"[To become a premier campus] all locations must successfully meet all requirements of the SCA Premier Training Campus program (and) demonstrate a calibrated teaching environment to teach within SCA standards and protocols. Campuses also work closely with Authorized SCA Trainers (ASTs) for class offerings, to ensure the highest quality of instruction...
Campuses are located globally with more being added every year. Our goal is to build an international educational network where coffee professionals around the world can have access to SCA education and the ability to pursue their dreams of a career in specialty coffee."
